MidCentury Sound was established in 2011 to acquire and restore vintage tube radios for resale to the collector and designer communities. MCS owner Chip Long has been an electronics hobbyist since childhood. Having realized that “knowing the proper end of the soldering iron to hold” was a skill worth exploiting, coupled with a keen appreciation for vintage, led him in this direction. While the main emphasis of MCS is tube radio, other tube gear along with some early solid state gear is occasionally accepted for restoration.
